1 John 3, 12

Jesus himself is already the beginning of seemingly “hatred” under the fifth commandment and shows us the relationship between the “hate” and “killing”. (. Mt 5,21 f) It shall be told John to 1 John 3:14: “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer”.

In the life of Cain that is visible in a terrible way. And it appears to him from what sinister reasons “hate” may arise.

We know that we have passed from death to life; because we love the brethren. Who does not love remains in death.

On what is this certainty?

On some exciting experience, through which we have gone?

The apostle John knows and says it quite differently: We know it, “because we love the brethren.” This is the real miracle and decisive change of our lives that we can “love” natural Ichmenschen and actually “love”.

Paul gave in 1 Co 13, 1-3 the powerful design for this short, simple phrase of John. We can love our brother, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is to us that “love” possible. What is “love”?

How to recognize it, what is it?

We Germans must particularly so ask because “love” with us has become an ambiguous word. That does not mean anything “love”! In the New Testament writings, the word “ἀγάπη agape” – that in the former secular literature course also gibt- a priori determined term coined because it is provided primarily by the love of God.

1 John 3, 18

Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and truth!

 Love is not just a word!

John pays attention to the great danger which Israel spoiled and for us, the destruction can bring.

“This people honors me with their lips,” says God complained about Israel (Isaiah 29:13). Even our Christian can easily exhausted in words and in the movement of our tongue. But our reality contradicts more or less blatant what our tongue said. Thus we read in 1 John 1,6.8.10; 2, 4.9 that “If we say ….” Or “Who says ….”, Which is the “lie” of an empty word.

Do you love God, you love the people, from all my heart and mind. A love without deeds is not love.

1 John 3, 20

that if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our hearts and knows everything.

Do not recklessly!

1 John 3, 24

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him; and by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

The Holy Spirit in you!

At this promise is very clear that our faith is not a mere thought thing and our love is no separate power ourselves.

Who as “believes,” and so “loves” as is “commanded” us, who comes in to a new existence to an intrinsic union with God. This union with God consists in a double “Stay”. Now “remains” the man “in Him”, in God or “in Christ”, as Paul says so frequently like. But it “remains” reversed God, Jesus himself, in the people. Logically these statements are difficult to combine; But in the divine life our usual logic no longer applies.

But Jesus himself promised: “We will come to him and make our home with him” (1 John 14.32). The calm, clear assurance, however, that the Spirit of God the church Jesus and each individual member of the church “given” is, pervades the entire apostolic witness to the community.

I do not mind the given and I find his work in my life, then I can tell that the Lord abides in me. Open yourself to the work of the Holy Spirit, he will be an integral part in your life, he wants to be your life partner. He will give thee in all things and lead he wants to reveal to you the ways of God for your life. Trust him let yourself fall, he will send you in all help, he is the voice of God in your life.

James 2, 12

Speak and act as those who will be judged by the law of liberty!

Talking and acting. Your words and actions should be done in the knowledge that you are being judged by God according to the “law of liberty”, that is, the law and the love of God which is written by the Holy Spirit in your heart. Thyself has been awarded, for you is Jesus Christ went to the cross. Thereby you were called to freedom, did you have for doing nothing and meet no law. With this awareness live communion with your brothers and sisters and with the people of the world.

God will judge all that certain people prefer, because that is against the law of love. God does not matter who is in front of him, with God there is no respect of persons.

Since this verse is directed at Christians, it is not about eternal condemnation (Jn 5, 24)., But rather to determine the amount of his reward with reference to the words, deeds and motives of Christians (1 Cor 3: 12-15; 2 Cor 5: 10; Rev. 22, 12).

You can not now go out and to accumulate rewards you and fly up one on one. This does not work because you are not saved from law, but then in the freedom Jesus Christ. Your words and your actions must be out of love one. You should not think about good deeds, but they perform out of love. Jesus Christ is in you win figure up to you they will know who Jesus Christ is.

1 John 1: 5

And that is the message we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

Meet a decision!

God is light, which is a liberating gospel!

You never have to fear that you something dark or ambiguous encounters in God. God is light and never darkness.

How difficult is our human being! As we disappoint by people and making real trust difficult.

How often do we give to our life other promises that we then fail to comply. How easy statements are made, which are difficult to maintain or that we do not really want to meet. How quickly we say to someone, “you can easily anytime at my report”, “I’m always there for you.” Then if it is really applicable and that checks in with you, perhaps only after months or years, often can not or we do not want to remember our promise.

Far too often we talk too fast. Because one day should symbolize pure trust in God, the other day we strive with God in public and my even being particularly authentic. Involuntarily we transfer our tainted image in God.

But God is different, you must give him your whole trust, because there is only pure light in him. John prepares with this in itself so obvious statement that there can be no “darkness” in the “light”. So essentially impossible in the “light” may be “darkness” at the same time so incompatible that remain in Jesus and his Geborgen in God with any sin that. 1 John 4: 8

Who does not love does not know God; for God is love.

Through the love everything is made!

For that to be the negative consequence of the last verse:

“1 John 4.7 Beloved, let us love one another! For love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God and knows God. ”
