1 John 3, 3

Who has this hope – a hope that is entirely tailored to Jesus – holding from every sin away, to be as pure as he.

The hope is alive in our lives! Without “hope” no one can live. But all earthly hopes, so they can energize us and meet some time, but are still births.

We have a “living hope” (1 Pt 1,3), a hope that not with everything else goes by in our lives and makes the very reason also our age bright and livable. It is the “hope” that “relies on him” the believer. This hope is not deceptive, because the one on which we found, not deceptive. You do not end in death because he, to which we hope the death conqueror who is risen.

But even this hope and just they – will now determine us also effective in the reality of our lives.

It is a basic train in the biblical statements about the future that they never serve the sole interest of knowledge or enjoyment of personal happiness. They always act into our present life with power as an incentive. So it is with John, he assures: “. And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure” Let us respect on the wording!

But how then is this “clean” about? John says he “purifies himself, even as he is pure.” The “just as” in Greek has not only a comparative sense, but also a causative sound. And you know that he appeared to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

You are bought with precious!

The “white” anyone who is at all Christian.

Jesus throughout the greatness of his love came not to overlook sin, to apologize and to play down, but they “take away”.

That was the whole and sole objective of his mission and revelation.

For us, he has come precisely for this reason, so that we can be free from sin. We should not look away, do not look past their own sins, and not for the sin of the brother and sister, we are called to mutual serve, this includes, to name the sin clear. Everyone in the community knows where this “taking away” was what price it cost. 1 John 3, 6

He who abides in Him does not sin; the sinner has not seen him and not recognized.

1 John 3, 10

In this the children of God and the children of the devil are evidently: who does not practice righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.

It is the truth that sets us free!

1 John 3, 12

Jesus himself is already the beginning of seemingly “hatred” under the fifth commandment and shows us the relationship between the “hate” and “killing”. (. Mt 5,21 f) It shall be told John to 1 John 3:14: “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer”.

We know that we have passed from death to life; because we love the brethren. Who does not love remains in death.

True love!

What is “love”?

How to recognize it, what is it?

We Germans must particularly so ask because “love” with us has become an ambiguous word. That does not mean anything “love”! In the New Testament writings, the word “ἀγάπη agape” – that in the former secular literature course also gibt- a priori determined term coined because it is provided primarily by the love of God.

1 John 3, 18

Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and truth!

 Love is not just a word!

John pays attention to the great danger which Israel spoiled and for us, the destruction can bring.

“This people honors me with their lips,” says God complained about Israel (Isaiah 29:13). Even our Christian can easily exhausted in words and in the movement of our tongue. But our reality contradicts more or less blatant what our tongue said. Thus we read in 1 John 1,6.8.10; 2, 4.9 that “If we say ….” Or “Who says ….”, Which is the “lie” of an empty word.

1 John 3, 20

Do not recklessly!
