A time of refreshment comes for you …
in the AT of Isaiah chapter 40 we read
27 Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Here we see a key word for receiving new strength and power, which affects both mental and physical condition. The word is ... HOPE it is called in the Hebrew qavah what can be translated with hope and wait. This word always comes with patience and it means as much as waiting with an expectation. A hope for the arrival of his promise. We also read in verse 28 that our God has the fullness of power and strength. How can we implement this urge in a very practical way? So I do that: I'm looking for a quiet place, take my guitar and start to play songs of praise and wait until I come into his presence to talk to JESUS mentally through his Holy Spirit in me. The Bible says he lives in the praise of his people, and wherever he lives we can meet him. If you can not play an instrument, let a music that gives Jesus the glory run and sing along. Try to forget yourself, your worries and problems, hardships and suffering, avoid yourself in the focus of your thoughts and ask to have. But wait for his presence. Sometimes it gets really fast sometimes it may take longer. Try it. He is happy when you sacrifice time and come. This is also our 2nd keyword COME This is what Jesus says in Matthew 11 28 Come unto me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; you will find peace for your souls! 30 For my yoke is gentle and my burden is light. Here Jesus calls you and me into his presence ... close to HIM ... we can experience his presence in several ways. One is through worship and praise, the other is through reading and studying in his Word, the Holy Scripture, the third is through prayer. This means that this coming again requires action on our part. Sacrifice TIME is probably a key to everything. When we redirect our priorities to fellowship with Jesus, we have taken the first important step to be refreshed and strengthened and empowered. Then we may learn to be humble ... to find peace as in verse 29. This Greek word is also translated as refreshment. Which means: recovering to be fit for further work, settling down, resting temporarily, keeping calm, staying calm and waiting in patient expectation. May the Lord bless you while you continue to seek HIM ... shalom
