Children, it is the last hour! And as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, there many antichrists have now become; whereby we know that is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but it should be obvious that not all of us.
Check everything!
The community may not always just waiting for the one great Antichrist, which is not yet visible, and it overlooked the dangerous “antichrists” who are there now and the community threatening. These men are to be taken seriously, that is just to recognize them, “that last hour”. Here is an opposition to Jesus has used, which has to do nothing mere theological controversy, but is eschatological attack on Jesus and his position in the history of salvation.
That is precisely the “anti-Christian”. As John identifies this “Antichrist”? He has first to an important fact: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; because if they had been of us, they would have remained with us. “This is dangerous to these men, that they do not like Jewish or pagan followers come from outside and attack. No, “we are expected”. They come from the ranks of the community. You will have to rely also on: We come but of you! We know this your Christianity very closely. But now we have found bigger and better and want to bring you instead of your narrow and meager faith in Jesus.
Be careful and always have a watchful mind, there is not bigger and better than Jesus Christ. Everything else is never the truth, all the rest are temptations and deceptions that should you lead away from Christ.
Do not let yourself be seduced, but please resist the Holy Spirit to the force. It behaves in this case as the job advertisements in the newspaper that promise you quick money without much work, they lead you up the garden path into a trap. You have a lot of work for very little money at the end. There are no easy faith, where the gold is raining from the sky and you’re wrapped up in cotton wool, faith is a maturation process which is also checked.
Pray for the Holy Spirit you saved from false teachings and the temptations of the Antichrist. Check everything by the word of God.
